What is love?

And what if you want to preserve it, but it is not reciprocated? What if you want to maintain it even at that price, that you become a doormat?! How far some people are willing to go when it comes to "rescue" their love?My friend has a problem. She is beautiful, young, educated, perspective and partially secured, but in terms of "Mr. Love" devoid of a sense of reality. She is willing to do anything to make it back to her, even at the price that it is not out of love but out of compassion. She refuses to give him even though he had already had long ago given up. Just refuses to go away. He can not open his eyes even though her with trying to help.And so I ask myself that question. Is it love or addiction? How is it possible that some people are so terribly afraid to be themselves, that they are willing to suspend their character, to sacrifice their pride and dignity ?! How do these people even after someone might want to have great respect for them, when they weigh themselves!?!
